About The Awards
The HOA Awards are an offshoot of the Humanitarians of Africa project by Hexa Media Africa. It is a movement dedicated to amplifying the voices and work of Africa’s most impactful nonprofit founders and social change leaders. Eligibility Criteria
All nominees must meet every criterion below before their submission is reviewed. Nominees who do not meet them will not proceed to scoring.
- SDG Alignment: Work must align with at least one named UN Sustainable Development Goal. Nominees must state which SDG(s) and explain how.
- Geographic Scope: Nominees must be based in Africa or conduct humanitarian work that directly benefits African communities. Verified by official registration, tax ID, or organizational profile.
- Operational Track Record: Initiative or organisation must have been actively operating for at least 12 consecutive months prior to nomination. Must submit at least 2 supporting documents (annual report, media coverage, field photos with timestamps, partnership letters).
- Measurable Impact: Must provide at least 2 quantified impact metrics (e.g. people served, communities reached, funds deployed, outcomes documented).
- Third-Party Verification: At least two of: letter from partner NGO/government/UN affiliate; registration document; financial report and third-party media feature.
- Public Accountability: Nominees publicly report on their work (website, social media)
File Submission Guidelines
All supporting files MUST be uploaded to your Google Drive in a single folder, submitted as a single Google Drive link. Any entries without the proper access will not be considered.
ONLY ONE ENTRY IS REQUIRED. NOMINEES WITH MULTIPLE ENTRIES WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED FROM THE PROCESS
